How do you stand up? How do you manage this with only those two little platforms we call “feet?”

Compare the size of your feet with the rest of your body. Isn’t that amazing?

You are a living evolutionary miracle!

Everyday, we see people walking around on their feet. The assumption is that it’s easy, natural. But I believe this is our biggest challenge for a biped’s movement system: stabilizing vertically.

Muscles, bones, organs, fluids all have their special functions and they help maintain vertical stance. Muscles and fascia attach to bones in dynamic stabilizing systems; one set opposing/contrasting or supporting/supplementing others. They're collected into fascial planes and support lines that course throughout your entire body and organize you from head to toe.

But they aren’t simply connecting and binding the joints; they’re collaborating with each other, bundled into larger and larger communities, like people in one apartment building, or a city block, a neighborhood, a district/locale, city, country, continent, hemisphere, our planet. Our muscles form specific relationships with each other to keep us going: alliances of support and mobility.

I am here to help you more efficiently call on these muscular alliances as you navigate both the mundane and extreme activities you do every day, whether it’s sitting in a chair, going on a leisurely walk, running, or dancing!
